All of Judy Scott’s products are crafted by hand; coloured, printed and sewn, she uses silk and wool for a range of scarves, ties, capes and cushions. This makes each item unique as hand printing brings its own distinctiveness and authenticity to each product.
Judy Scott’s work is all about colour, process experimentation and making marks. She makes scarves to add zing to an outfit and ties that can make casual looks a little bit more special. Inspired by the colour, pattern and form found in and around the local beaches and harbours, Scott translates this inspiration onto her work through screen and mono-printing and is fascinated by the process of making, developing colour palettes and mixing dye recipes. She is currently experimenting with capturing the drawn and mono printed mark and printing digitally onto cloth.
Scott is also the School Specialist for Printed Textiles at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm for printed textiles with others.
