French Oak and English Ash. This is a wide, low, comfortable chair - made for relaxing not dining. It's of 'Windsor' construction - ie the legs and spindles fit into the solid seat. The seat is made and cut to shape, then cut into three, angled, and re-assembled to form a gentle hollow. The legs and spindles are in English Ash, and the contrasting seat and back rail are in French Oak.
This chair was awarded a Design Guild Mark by the Worshipful Company of Furnituremakers in 2012.
