Contemporary Applied Arts remembers HRH Elizabeth II and extend our heartfelt condolences to the Royal Family.
Our gallery recieved long-standing support from her late husband HRH Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh. During the 1950s, both HM the Queen and the Queen Mother were regular visitors to our establishment. We extend our eternal gratitude to them for their patronage.
In June 2022, Her Majesty The Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee after 70 years of service.
As London's original applied arts gallery for over 70 years, CAA remembers such a milestone by revisiting a collection of brooches designed by our CAA MAker Members specifically for the Platinum Jubilee. Makers also created postcards to accompany their work, some of which are pictured below.
This collection was created in collaboration with Charlie Casely-Hayford. A toile jacket from the bespoke atelier is on display in the gallery with our Jubilee brooches.
