Traces | Sasha Wardell

London Craft Week 2024

Sasha Wardell has dedicated over 40 years to perfecting the art of bone china, fusing artisan skills with industrial processes learnt from studies in two of its historic capitals, Stoke-on-Trent and Limoges. Her pieces are pared down, enhancing the inherent translucency and soft, tactile surface of the material. Sasha's signature style celebrates the pure white of slip cast bone china, using layers of slip to reveal timeless decorative motifs in muted shades. Her new lamps and tealights rejoice in the translucent quality of bone china, casting a gentle glow from within.

Sasha has shared her expertise in bone china production and mould making all over the world in workshops, which she now runs from her studio in Wiltshire. Her work is highly sought after for its distinctive style and is housed in public and private collections worldwide.

Find new pieces by Sasha Wardell at our exhibition 'Traces: Imagined Histories in Clay, Silver and Thread' for London Craft Week 2024 from 13 - 19 May at our Marylebone gallery.
