In her wide-ranging practice, which spans from jewellery to sculpture, Gill Forsbrook is interested in the exploratory process of making, uncovering the inherent potential in materials. From recycled plastics to paper and wood, her making is always grounded in the collaborative action between maker and material.
In her new tabletop sculptures, Gill explores the interaction between metals and textiles in a series of works which draw upon the the forms of the built environment, hinting at the electric tension created in the relationshop between elements, from standing stones to skyscrapers.
